Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 November 2026

Receipt to Excel turns a photo of a receipt into a table. It is a small, independent service — there are no accounts, no user profiles and no advertising. This page explains exactly what happens to your data.

1. Your receipt photos

The photo you upload is sent to our server, held in memory, forwarded to a vision model provider over an encrypted connection, and discarded when the request finishes. It is never written to disk, never stored in a database, and never used to train any model.

Before upload, your browser shrinks the image to roughly 1200 pixels and re-encodes it as JPEG. That smaller copy is what leaves your device.

2. The extracted table

The merchant name, date, line items and totals we read from the photo are returned to your browser so you can edit them. They are not stored on our servers. When you close the tab, they are gone — export them first.

3. What we do store

4. Who processes data for us

5. Cookies and tracking

We set no cookies. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker. The only browser storage we use is the licence key described above, and only after you activate one.

6. Retention

Images and extracted tables: not retained at all. Quota counters: up to two days. Licence cache: up to 120 days, refreshed on each validation, and removed on request.

7. Your rights

Because we hold almost nothing, most requests are trivial to satisfy. You can ask us what is held against your licence key, ask for it to be deleted, or ask for an export. Write to hello@receipt-to-excel.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

The service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly process their data.

9. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the "last updated" date above will change and the new version will be published on this page before it takes effect.
